Flouride – a daily dose of toxin

My two year old insists on calling toothpaste ‘poo paste’. The wisdom of the young never ceases to amaze me.

Most commercial toothpastes are quite literally loaded with ‘crap ‚Äì ingredients that are harmful, especially for little ones who don’t cope with the toxic load of life like adults simply because they are smaller.

A tube of ‘poopaste’ has enough fluoride in it (about the size of a pea) to be toxic, even life threatening for a small child. Most children wouldn’t ingest a whole tube in one sitting, but the question in my mind is why would I, as a mother, continue to subject my child to even small daily doses of something that is known to be causally linked to suspected respiratory damage, musculoskeletal, liver and kidney problems and is a neuro toxic?

Fortunately, many toothpaste choices on the market are fluoride-free. A low or no-sugar diet may do more for strong healthy teeth than any additive can.
