Eczema babies benefit from nature
Baby skin itself provides a perfect, natural protection for infants that needs little interference from the chemical-based products we find in the baby care aisle of a supermarket.
As a mother of an ‘eczema baby’, I found that I could eliminate whole sections of the supermarket when I shopped. Organic cold pressed olive oil was a better moisturiser than any commercial skin product and it was free of known skin irritants like Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) or propylene glycol, which are often responsible for the flare ups and discomfort an ‘eczema baby’ experiences.
These are just two of the ingredients that can be problematic and careful label reading will soon have you ‘in the know’ about brands to avoid. And the benefits of an SLS or propylene glycol-free approach to baby care products extend beyond skin care to general health.
